My aunt is a PA for an Israeli industrialist/weapons dealer/Lex Luthor who makes her travel all over the place. When she’s not down in Miami, she’s in her native New York. Things are stabilizing though, and that means staying in one spot for longer than two weeks at a time. She’s bought a house in Connecticut, fifteen minutes away from NYC by car, and even less by train. We visited the place and it was quite cute. Wouldn’t mind living there myself.
After lunch and farting around a giant furniture store we attempted to go into the city to visit the American Indian Museum. Traffic was horrendous, however. Gridlock for two hours. Two. Hours. My aunt assured me this was atypical but holy god man. I would not own a car if I lived in the city.
By that time the museum had closed so we had dinner and saw an off-Broadway play. The Weir, it’s called, and it was good. Between that and the drive back to my aunt’s current, rented abode, I got a headache. Hope this bigass can of Sprite helps.
Also I saw the Empire State Building lit up red white and blue for Memorial Day but by the time I got over my realization that I truly am a gentle country gal, the photo op had passed. If it comes again, I’ll go for it.
i think everyone has that one phrase that we all use ironically but then after a while it just becomes completely unironic like i used hot diggity once as a joke and now i say it all the time im telling you ironic phrases are like gateway drugs to being openly mocked
